Pu-erh tea is a fermented tea made from tea leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. It originally comes from the southwestern province of Yunnan in China and has a long history and tradition. Pu-Erh tea differs from other types of tea because of its special production method. After harvesting, the tea leaves are fermented and then roasted or steamed. This gives the tea a deep, complex flavor and dark color.
Pu-Erh tea is often divided into two types, namely young and old Pu-Erh tea. Young Pu-Erh tea has a fresh, green taste and a slightly sweet note, while older Pu-Erh tea has a deeper, earthy taste and a slight acidity.
